✨Review✨The Coven ~ Lizzie Fry Remember a time when you walked into a bookshop and picked up a book based on the plot and cover without Instagram influencing it? Well this was the pick I went with and I’d never seen anyone read it before. So how did I do with my choice? Let’s just say I am grateful I have this account to give me recommendations. This book is okay. It wasn’t spectacular, it wasn’t horrible. The Coven is a female empowerment plot wrapped up in a bit of male savourism. I wanted more of the witches doing things, there was a big focus in how one of the main characters kept destroying things with her magic. I found the timeline jumpy, and it was a bit too long. But it was an easy read, and it held my attention long enough to read all 450 pages of it. Males having very little power is something I can get around. Spoiler: I didn’t like the villain with female but I guess we can be evil too. If you liked The Power or Wilder Girls you may like this one! CW: it’s quite gory, murder, imprisonment, sexism [ID: The coven is sat on top of a pink blanket and a spotty blue doona, legs are around the book wearing grey trackies, a white hand is holding the bottom left corner]
