👩❤️💋👨 Book review 👩❤️💋👨 The One @johnmarrs .author Ok I LOVED this book! The premise of this British dystopian-fiction-thriller is that there is a website to submit your dna to that will tell you who your match is based on biological data. The story rotates between five very different characters and what happens when they get their match. I loved how different, unique, and sometimes very messed up the characters are. Without spoiling too much I’ll say one character’s story is pretty dark/gruesome so warning for those that are squeamish, but true crime lovers will really enjoy. I love how each character was dealing with their match in a completely different, and at times surprising way. There’s some British slang that I didn’t totally understand but it didn’t take away from the story. Also at times some of the characters stories were a little cheesy. I would have maybe liked to see a little more in the end but I still enjoyed the ending. Overall, I thought this was such a unique idea. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me hooked. Not going to lie It definitely made me think about who I would be matched with! The true crime junkie in me really enjoyed all the true crime references. (Obviously Christopher’s story was my favorite one 🤪) Warning- the Netflix series of the same name is COMPLETELY different and I truly don’t understand why they felt they had to change so much. The story in the book is so much better than what they did. “Life should be lived, not viewed from afar.” Have you read this book? If you could find out your match from submitting your dna would you?
