✨Review✨ Verity ~ Colleen Hoover My first ever Colleen Hoover book! This one was recommended to me after I asked for something that would drag me in and blow my socks off. And drag me in it did! I actually had no real idea what it was about and I’m going to not give a synopsis because I think it was better that way. Just know there’s child death, emotional abuse, car trauma, murder, sexual descriptions, and some medical content involved. It’s quite dark, but also… not? Verity did for me exactly what I needed it to. I read it in less than 24 hours because I needed to know what the deal was, what was happening in this family. It gave me chills at more than one point and the creepiness of the house was described well. And also I’m here for a creepy child. I want more of that in literature. I will say, I was kinda disappointed by the ending. I think it’s a combination of a couple of things; it was so hyped up by people that I was underwhelmed, and it ended just so suddenly I was left like wait was that all!? Maybe I’ve read too many thrillers for this type of book to blow my tiny mind. I didn’t guess the ending, but I had some idea of where it was going. Anyway, if you’re in lockdown and need something to whip through I recommend. It kept me entertained and held my attention which is something that’s been difficult for a book to do so cudos CoHo you did it!! Will I read any of her other books? I don’t think so. The romantic and sexual aspects of this one I actually really hated (but that’s just me) but if romance is your thing then the backlist titles are your oyster! [ID: a kindle with the front cover of verity on it is held up by a white hand. There’s a white curtain behind it, and a plant on the left handside]
