🪶Book Review 🪶 Where the Crawdads Sing by @authordeliaowens ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5) I went into this with VERY high expectations because everyone on #bookstagram raves about this book. I really enjoyed this book but wasn’t completely blown away like I was expecting to be. What I liked: I loved how descriptive Delia Owens was with the setting and characters. I could totally picture the marsh and creatures. Her writing was truly beautiful and had great similes and metaphors. I really liked the story and Kya’s sad and lonely life really got to me. I LOVED the defense’s closing argument. What I didn’t like: I wasn’t the biggest fan of the chapter titles and as someone who works in criminal law, I found some of the questioning in court unrealistic. It might have also been a tad too long. Overall, I was ready to give this four stars until the reveal in the end which I LOVED. I can’t wait for the movie! Did you read this book? If so, what did you think? If not, what is your favorite book to film adaptation? “Perhaps love is best left as a fallow field.” Swipe to see the stunning back cover and a synopsis!
