When did you first learn about the Tulsa Race Massacre of6/3/2021, 6:47:48 PM
When did you first learn about the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921? Were you taught it in school? Or did you learn it from Watchmen? This piece of American history, that affected generation after generation of Black Americans, was whitewashed from history books for many decades. Learn more about it in this incredibly moving conversation between Jacqueline Woodson, who includes this Tulsa history in her novel Red at the Bone, and Caleb Gayle, who wrote a cover story for the New York Times Magazine about the Tulsa Race Massacre and some of the Tulsa families still living with that legacy today. Deep thanks to @jacqueline _woodson and @calebgayle for taking time for this act of radical remembrance!
