Spent an exhausting day moving to LA today but in honor of my move, I just had to include a picture of my hometown with the beautiful view of downtown San Diego/the bay. The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Synopsis: The story of the last duel in France which was between a knight and a squire accused of raping the knight’s wife. My thoughts: Although I’m not too into historical novels, I found the duel and the events leading up to the duel very interesting. I wasn’t too interested in the other details on the history so I was a bit bored in the other parts, but if you are a history buff you might really enjoy it! It is a quick read and I am really looking forward to seeing it on the big screen in Ridley Scott’s adaptation with Matt Damon and Adam Driver. What is a book to film adaptation you are looking forward to? (Or are hoping for?)
