✨Review✨Outlawed ~ Anna North You may as well call me Britney bitch because I wanted this book to gimme more. Oh Outlawed. I needed you to be 300 pages longer. Don’t get me wrong I think I liked this, but also clearly am still longing for more. More of what you ask? Just all of it. Here’s an overview of what is covered in this 260 page book; fertility, midwifery, witches, gender, lgbtqi+ issues, female friendships and there’s probably things I’m missing. It had SO MUCH potential, but something fell flat. The concept was incredible all of the things went together really well and the storytelling was also very well done. But the pacing was off, there were big jumps between scenes and paragraphs. I was left confused on more than one occasion, it felt like in the editing stage paragraphs had been removed and then not been linked back together. Jumpy, and not in a good vignette way. I really wanted to love it and bits I definitely did. The writing, the commentary around the topics I mentioned above. But it needed more detail, and the end just ends?! I read the last sentence of every book first. The last sentence of this book gives the entire story away, I really didn’t have to read the whole thing 😅 I can absolutely see this being a movie and it read kind of like a screenplay, so @reesesbookclub @hellosunshine I’m going to need a movie ASAP! It took me a while to read, and even longer to write this review. So here’s my star rating; 3.85. Confused? Yeah me too. I read this as part of @turningthepagewithyoubookclub and I’m glad I had Lauren for emotional support to scream my frustrations at 😂 also peep the frankie feet in the corner of the photo
