✨Black Buck✨ ~ Mateo Askaripour Don’t hate me. I’m going to DNF this for now. I wanted to love it, and for the first day or two I really was invested. But then there were a couple of ableist slurs and I can’t get past it. I don’t want to pick it up. And I am also not smart enough to understand satire. I really struggle with the meta-ness of “dear reader take notice of this” and when a book is somewhat addressed to the audience. I know so many people have loved this one and for everything it is. But for right now, with my limited concentration I want to focus on other things and with a tbr as big as a library I have many other things. Thankyou to @hachetteaus for sending this one my way though, I’m sad to put it down for now. It was published last week so go grab your copies and spread the joy around this, (but just be mindful that the r word is not a word that should be being used in everyday language and if it is in your vocabulary kindly remove it. Even if satirical in nature.) TW: ableism, racism
