What are some books you are grateful for? With Thanksgiving

What are some books you are grateful for? With Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wanted to take a minute to talk about some books I’m personally grateful exist. I’m grateful for any book that entertains me and for the way that reading shapes and changes me as a person. (Can’t forget the many book boyfriends that reading has blessed my life with. 😂😍) But some books I’m specifically grateful for are: The Rosie Effect: (I couldn’t find my copy to photograph!) I’ve always wanted to be a mother but the idea also simultaneously scared me for a whole list of reasons. I read this book when my daughter was 2 years old and just cried through it because I related to the feelings in it so hard. Everyone in my circles at the time seemed to have slipped into motherhood without a worry (not true, I know. But no one, including me, talked about it) I’ll forever be grateful to this book for making me feel like less of a parenting anomaly at the time. (Plus if you have read “The Rosie Project” you need to. It’s so good and hilarious) The Astonishing Color of After: Being biracial often leaves me feeling like I don’t fit anywhere. Not Japanese enough to fit there, but so much of my traits, preferences, traditions, and mentality making me “other” around my friends when I was growing up. I’ve spent a lot of my life pretending I was more of something to fit in. And this whole story just spoke to that exact feeling. To all you biracial kids who understand a language better than you can speak it, and never feel quite enough of one side or the other… this book just made me feel not alone in that. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: Three sisters. Half Asian. Half White. SO many relatable dynamics, and even some specific sister situations, that made me relate so hard to this book. Aside from that, the whole series is just so freaking cute and fun to read. Which books are you grateful for?
