Do you have a book (or film) that brings you real comfort? HAPPY HOBBIT DAY friends. A very Happy Birthday to Bilbo and Frodo Baggins! I have a very small pool of books that I think of when I’m going through a hard time. Tolkien’s Hobbit and LoTR stories and characters are always at the top of my list when I’m looking for words of calm or courage. I have been turning to some of these quotes this year and they always bolster me. I hope you’re celebrating today with some good food and some good cheer! ❤️“So comes snow after fire, and even dragons have their endings” ❤️It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit. ❤️Go back? He thought. No good at all. Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go! So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter. ❤️Not all that have fallen are vanquished ❤️“Hold your ground, hold your ground. Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.” ❤️“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps because I am afraid, and he gives me courage” #hobbitday #tolkienweek #hobbitweek #thefellowshipofbooks #alongawaitedparty #tolkientribe
