Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I’m super grateful for this stack of #bookmail ! Thank you to all the tagged publishers for sending these my way! #gifted Recently I’ve been exploring YA more than I usually do. I’ve never had any deliberate hesitations when it comes to YA, but now I’m consciously seeking out more stories from that range. I think it’s really important for nuanced conversations and diverse representation to be available for younger readers, and YA authors have been absolutely killing it! I’m super excited to pick up IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF TRUE by Susan Kaplan Carlton! Based on the 1958 bombing of The Hebrew Benevolent Congregation Temple in Atlanta, this story follows Ruth, a 17 year old Jewish girl. As Ruth struggles with her religious identity in a predominantly Christian community, she has to come to terms with the many facets of social injustice running rampant in her community. IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF TRUE is an #ownvoices story and it’s out now in paperback! Huge thank you to @algonquinyr for sending me this copy! #intheneighborhoodoftrue What are your favorite YA books?
