Wizard Name: Your pet’s name (or a fictional pet you like) + First Tree that comes to mind + THE + Favorite Color. I’m Kingsley Oak the Red. . Today I’m on the blog tour for “Wizard for Hire: Apprentice Needed” Book 2 in the “Wizard for Hire” series, which releases today. My first encounter with author Obert Skye was when my husband gave me Skye’s “Leven Thumps” series for Christmas the first year we were married. His style is fun and quirky, and I thought it was a fun series to read. (Plus the covers are real stunners). Shadow Mountain Publishing seems to publish books with a similar fun levity to serious stories, and I always enjoy the humor and fantasy. . Skye is back with the stunner covers and his quirky style with “Wizard for Hire”. Based on Leven Thumps and Wizard For Hire, it’s abundantly clear that Skye is inspired by the Harry Potter series (either by character similarities or actual mention of the HP series several times in the book) I think for an adult reader who also loves Harry Potter, the mentions and similarities could start to wear on you, but depending on what kind of middle reader you have, this could be very exciting and might be a fun way to get a young reader interested in a new series. . Overall, the magic in this book is fun—and in many ways it’s left up to the reader to decide what’s real, in the kind of way that makes magic feel like it could be real in anyone’s every day life. (Synopsis in the comments) If your family likes to read books aloud together, I think this one fits the bill as one that is fun for that! . Who are some of your favorite fictional wizards?
