Which fantastical animal would you chose to be your aerial

Which fantastical animal would you chose to be your aerial mount and why? Hippogriff, Eagle, Dragon/Wyvern, Pegasus, or Thestral? This is a hard toss up for me, because I’d love a pegasus, but I’d also like a dragon for the added bonus of firepower. . If you’re familiar with Anne McCaffrey’s science fiction series, “Dragonriders of Pern” (I don’t even know how many books there are at this point, 14??) then you might be delighted to know that her daughter, GiGi McCaffrey relaunched the series with the first new Pern novel in five years! With a new hero the people of Pern (a human-draconian society known for its lifelong interspecies relationship between humans and dragons) BUT for the first time in living memory, dragons may be on the verge of fighting dragons, in “Dragon’s Code”. (Thank you to @randomhouse for gifting me this copy) . I have not read the Dragonriders of Pern series and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to read this book without having to get the many previous novels. But McCaffrey does include a short (but detailed) historical Prologue that I think is probably sufficient to catch up those of us who are being introduced to this world for the first time. I haven’t started this novel yet, but I plan on reading it (Dragon books are always a must-read for me) . Has anyone read Anne McCaffrey’s books already? I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on this return to the series by her daughter and of Anne’s original series. . #dragonridersofpern #annemccaffrey #gigimccaffrey #dragonscode #dragons
