Happy Friday! What is everyone reading this weekend? Anything good I need on my radar? . Since today is officially the last day of summer and we’re officially into the new school year, I’m featuring some reads that were gifted to me by @torteen that showcase how exciting (read: emotional, crazy, etc etc. hahah) the school years can be. . I had actually only heard of “Anger Is A Gift” when I received these books, since I’ve seen it all around Bookstagram, but the first one that caught my attention by the synopsis was “Like Never And Always”, which is about a girl who wakes up in the hospital after a call accident and realizes she is stuck in her friend, Morgan’s, body. As she tries to fit into Morgan’s life, she discovers a series of disturbing truths her friend kept from her. . “Anger Is A Gift” follows Moss Jeffries in the aftermath of his fathers murder by Oakland police. His father is vilified and the lack of accountability leaves Moss with near-crippling panic attacks and grief. In his junior year of high school, Moss and fellow classmates are increasingly treated like criminals, as his panic increases he must face the choice: give in to fear and hate or realized that anger can actually be a gift. . I have always enjoyed espionage school stories and “The Deceivers” is about Brynn Hilder being recruited to an elite school, not because of her grades but because she’s reaaaally good at conning people. At the school she’s expected to use her skills for much bigger purposes: getting rid of crooked politicians and corrupt officials. . And finally, “Dare You To Lie” about Kylene who is trying to clear her FBI agent father’s name after he was framed for murder. Buried secrets and drama in her small town ensues. . I have to admit that despite all the drama of the high school years, I didn’t hate it. haha. I even miss my band class. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ . #angerisagift #likeneverandalways #dareyoutolie #thedeceivers #markoshiro #annaguirre #kristensummons #backtoschool
