On January 27, the 200th anniversary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice, @beccasbookishlife wrote about it on her post that day and, until then, I had no idea! And that has stuck with me in the days following. (Thought I would pull out the lovely @novelteatins Pride and Peppermint tea caddy today to chat about classics.) . Two hundred years from now I don’t expect to be remembered by anyone. ha. And I’m okay with that. I’m just saying, what an achievement! To have written something so beloved that it has endured the test of time. People’s devotion to this story continues and I have many friends who say it is still their favorite book of all time. What do you think makes a classic? So many books from that time period continue to remain popular today, and I think it’s because no matter how old, a wide population of people can still relate to them. . What are some books that have been published recently that you hope will endure the test of time? Or why do you think they will? Why do you love Pride and Prejudice? . I’ll admit that I still haven’t read it. Every year I promise myself that I will and every year I break that promise. Anyone what to buddy read it this year and hold me to it? . Also, you can use my code: FPDISTILLERY for 15% off your purchase of any @novelteatin . Remember, these aren’t books! They are gorgeous and punny tea tins, filled with beautiful tea blends to celebrate literature! . #novelteatin #prideandprejudice #janeausten #teatime #flatlay #bookstagram #bibliophile
