So far it seems like the heat wave took the day off for Labor Day and I'm thrilled. After so many days over 100 degrees, a high of 80 seems blessedly cool. What are your plans for today? Do you have today off or are you business as usual? Today I wanted to show the June “Dreams that live & Dreams that die” box by @theboxwalla , which was sent to me for review. It features books with characters in Japan, Poland, and Austria and three writers: two prospective Novel Laureates and one who passed before he won. . Included in the box was: 📕“Maikoka Sisters” by Junichiro Tanizaki 📗“Sorrow Beyond your Dreams” by Peter Handke 📘“House of Day, House of Night” by Olga Tokarczuk . 📙as well as a set of gorgeous “Literary Paris” postcards designed by some of the coolest people I know, Nichole and Evan Roberston from @obviousstate . . One of my favorite things about the Boxwalla box is actually the letter to subscribers. I love the information about the authors and the history about the books they include there. I love reading that kind of stuff almost as much as the books themselves. (not to mention the paper box everything came in was just gorgeous. . If you remember, I unboxed their Forgotten Women subscription box last month and I really enjoyed the experience I had with both of their boxes. I feel like I learn a lot from these boxes and their classy and smart curation.
