Last week I was sent a copy of the new "Wreck This Journal" color edition from @penguinbooks and I was excited because I've been seeing the different versions of them around forever. . I had a very basic idea of what it was about from posts I’d seen on Bookstagram, but I have found that nothing can prepare you for “Wreck This Journal” until you’re holding your own copy in your hands. Because until it is yours, you can glance at the pages and their crazy talk and walk away. . But when it is yours and you turn to page TWO and are directed to BREAK THE SPINE OF THE BOOK, that’s when you have your first anxiety meltdown. (no kidding man, page two! You don’t even ease in. Keri Smith just goes straight for the throat) . From there the prompts get even more crazy and destructive, and honestly, after my initial shock I was basically overcome with madness and planning all the ways I would use this as my journal for Summer 2017. . I’m kind of horrified and mostly excited to try my first “Wreck This Journal”. I basically fell in love with Keri Smith last year after reading her book, “The Wander Society”, and after seeing this journal, I think I’m starting to see how her books force people out of their norms/comfort zones and into a different level of thinking and creativity. . When I posted this in my stories the other day I had several people tell me they had done a “Wreck This Journal” already. Do you have any fun stories to share? Did you love it or hate it? Any particular pages you loved the best?
