Which book did you read that made you a reader? . What was the book that you loved so much, you had to find more like it? . What book made you a child of books? . Today I’ve got the link to this free printable in my bio for anyone who wants to join me and @candlewickpress in sharing which book made you a reader! (Using the hashtag #childofbooks ) . The soon to be released picture book “A Child of Books” by @oliverjeffers and @samwinston _ is the inspiration behind this fun sign (I’ve got a giveaway for this book, a tote, and a signed book plate three posts back) . I have always wanted to read. I don’t even remember why. But when it was finally my turn to learn how to read in Kindergarten, I was presented with a stapled paper book called “The Apple Man”. (“The Apple Man ran. The Apple Man sat.”) I very clearly remember running around my classroom and showing everyone my book and telling them I was going to learn to read. And then I read every book I could get my hands on for the next 27 years. ha. Books = Magic. . Can’t wait to see which books made you a reader and learn why! Just tag your photos with #childofbooks ! . 📕“To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.” Victor Hugo . 📕"Oh, magic hour, when a child first knows she can read printed words!" — A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
