Happy Friday! . Last month, Michelle from @onceuponabookcase asked me if she could send me her newest subscription box, @onceuponabookclubbox for review. . This box is different from others you may have seen, as all the contents (besides the book) come wrapped. As you read, you will encounter tabs stuck in specific points in the story. When you reach the point in the page where the tab is, you unwrap the gift that coincides with the tab. . (I have a FULL SPOILER post on the blog today. If you have seen/or want to see all the opened gifts, you can see them there. Link in bio) . The gifts correlate directly with the story and the book, and are meant to really enhance and deepen the reading experience. . Currently @onceuponabookclubbox is curating boxes for adult women’s fiction and historical fiction, so all you people who keep asking me if I know of boxes that aren’t YA, this is your lucky day. ha. . Here are my pros and cons: . 👍🏼Pro: Fun, immersive, and unique reading experience . 👎🏼Con: If you can’t read the book right away, you’ve got to put the box out of sight until you’re ready. . I STRONGLY urge you not to cheat when you get the box. Absolutely do not open the gifts until you get to the right place in the book. I was so tempted because I couldn’t read the book immediately. I was feeling those bags up like Christmas morning. . The Lilac Girls was a very emotional book, so the gifts also became very emotional as I opened them during the story. It was a very cool reading experience and the gifts were PERFECTLY curated and matched the story. I don’t know how Michelle found some of those items. . Thank you, @onceuponabookclub for sending me this box for review and for the very unique and very cool reading experience!
