Did anyone else ever struggle with paying attention to an audiobook when they first started using them? Audiobooks are one of my favorite ways to consume books, but it did take some practice for me in the beginning to learn how to focus on them properly. #ad I’m currently listening to “American Dirt” written by Jeanine Cummins and excellently narrated by Yareli Arizmendi. It’s been one of those books that I’ve heard a lot of buzz about and has been called “a Grapes of Wrath for our times”, so I was excited to receive the audiobook from @Macmillan .Audio. So far I’ve enjoyed the narrator (the narrator is a make it or break it thing for me with audiobooks, so I’m always glad when I like the reader!) Are you currently listening to anything on audio? . We love listening to audiobooks as a family in the car, I listen all day while I’m doing mindless house chores, and I love listening while I sew. This year we also started using audiobooks for my 7 year old, who is constantly checking books out from the library at a higher reading level than she is currently capable. (All those cool covers, I can’t blame her.) But she also wants to feel like she’s reading them on her own. So after she does her school reading, I’ll just grabbed the audiobook for whatever middle grade book she has and she follows along with a ruler so she doesn’t get lost on the page as she listens. . If you’re looking to add more audiobooks in 2020, you should join me in starting with #AmericanDirt , which comes out on January 21st! I’d love to have people to talk with about it when I’m done. #audiobook #jeaninecummins #yareliarizmendi #amreading #amlistening #onthebedproject #cozyvibes #momentsofmine #everysquareastory #bookstoread
