Is anyone getting into goal setting mode now that Christmas has past? I’m continuing in my goal of reading the unread books on my shelves. (I read 32 of them this year) and I thought that since I’ve already planned a full Lord of the Rings reread in 2020, one of my goals will be to thoroughly read the David Day books I’ve collected over the last several years. I feel it guys, this will be the year that I take my love of Lord of the Rings to the next level. haha. If I’m not speaking near fluent Elvish by 2021, this year will have been a bust. . I was recently gifted “The Illustrated World of Tolkien” and “An Encyclopedia of Tolkien: The History and Mythology that inspired Tolkien’s World” both written by David Day (pictured) I’ll show them in my stories for some closeups. After years of buying David Day’s books I recognize that several of his books contain much of the same material, but I’m obsessed with the art and the information and these two are no different in beauty both outside and in. Maybe during my reads this year I’ll be able to categorize the similarities between his books more exactly and make a guide on which books to buy if you’re not into getting ALL THE BOOKS like me. haha. . For today’s photo I thought I’d feature the Harfoot Hobbit. The one we are the most familiar with. But did you know that the other two strains of Hobbit are called “Fallohide” and “Stoor”? There is a tiny Hobbit fact for you today! . #thelordoftherings #thetaleoftwotowes #thereturnoftheking #jrrtolkien #lotr #thehobbit #davidday #theillustratedworldoftolkien #anencyclopediaoftolkien
