What are some of your childhood favorite books? Or maybe a children’s book that became your favorite after you grew up? I don’t remember really having any sort of strong feelings toward Winnie the Pooh as a kid, but as I get older, I grow more fond of him and his philosophy. (Especially because Pooh is a favorite of my husband’s. I always get him vintage editions of Winnie the Pooh when I find them at book sales.) . My husband and I both read “The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse” by Charlie Mackesy (thank you to @harpercollins for gifting it to me) and we agreed that this peaceful and lovely book was reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh. As the author states in his opening letter, this is a book that you can open at any page and read, but also has a bit of a journey if you read it from the start to finish. I absolutely loved the drawings (100 color and black and white drawings). I can see immediately why this is such a popular book right now. If you like “The Tao of Pooh”, quotes to live by, and books that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, I think you’d enjoy this one. We really enjoyed reading together as a family. I thought I would include a few of my favorite quotes from the book below: . ❤️“‘The truth is everyone is winging it.’ So I say spread your wings and follow your dreams.” ❤️“When the big things feel out of control, focus on what you love right under your nose.” . ❤️“The fox never really speaks,” whispered the boy. “No. And it’s lovely he is with us” said the horse. “To be honest, I often feel I have nothing interesting to say,” said the fox. “Being honestly is always interesting,” said the horse. . ❤️“We all need a reason to keep going” said the horse. “What’s yours?” “You three” said the fox “Getting home” said the boy “Cake” said the mole. . ❤️'Isn’t it odd. We can only see our outsides, but nearly everything happens on the inside” . ❤️“What do you want to be when you grow up? Asked the mole “Kind” said the boy. . #theboythemolethefoxandthehorse #charliemackesy #illustratedbooks #childrensbooks #quotestoliveby #instaart #artlovers #artwork #hygge
