WINNER: @citiesabove GIVEAWAY/Review. (Thank you to @epicreads for gifting me this finished copy) There is already a lot of hype surrounding this book and a lot of great reviews coming out and I think you’ll find that I may not be much different here. I thought “Serpent & Dove” hit a good balance between the darkness that can come with menacing magic and witch trials and a story about friendship, family, love, and acceptance. . This book follows both Louise and Reid’s POVs (It’s not always one for one on chapters, you get a few from Louise before getting one from Reid or visa versa) Louise, a witch who has fled her coven, and Reid a Chasseur sworn to the Church as a witch killer. I didn’t read the synopsis for this book, so the way their stories converge was a surprise to me. So I’m not going to give the synopsis here in case you’d like to go in blind. . While I enjoyed following the character ARCs for both, I really loved following Reid. As a religious person myself, I feel like I used to find myself facing the same mental conflicts he faced when I was younger (oh the parallels that can be drawn in this story)— Although I’d consider this book to be NA by the ages and romantic scenes. I blew through this book and found that I really loved the characters and the twists that this story presented as it evolved. It was one of those books that I found hard to put down and I loved it very much. I cannot wait for the next book! Please note that this book could use a trigger warning for cutting. . Giveaway details: . 🖤Must be following @foldedpagesdistillery . 🖤Comment your favorite go-to treat (There was a lot of cinnamon roll eating in “Serpent & Dove”, and as someone who is always ready to sink my teeth into cake, donuts, cinnamon rolls, pie… anything sweet and dough-based, it’s embarrassingly one of my top take-aways from this book. haha.) 🖤🖤For extra entries: follow @epicreads or tag a friend who you think would genuinely be interested in this giveaway. . Giveaway will end on Sunday and winner announced on Monday so I can mail the winner their book on release day, Tuesday September 3. #serpentanddove #shelbymahurin
